I’m in a Hurry

Is it any wonder “busy” and “dizzy” rhyme?

Frenzied activity to tick away the time

Perhaps I’ll fold

Minutes grow cold

But what will become of the driving force inside?

*  *  *

I could re-route

Drain the flaming force out

And sprout

New roots

Watch the tender plant shoot

Watch out

What kind of life would suit…

Time out

*  *  *

* *  *

The minutes emptied of their contents are not lost

Their seemingly shriveled and gaunt shells a small cost

And in exchange

On each day’s page

Will I write the treasures in solitary got.
